My Why

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for helping people. Whether it’s giving advice to a friend, offering a listening ear, or working a helping profession, I’m all about it. When I thought about what I wanted to be when I grew up, it always came back to helping people. While there was some fluctuation in the process of deciding a college major, the options always revolved around a profession that would allow me to help others. Through all the fluctuation, I always came back to mental health, psychology, and therapy.  The past four years of my life have been extremely difficult, but through the highs and the lows, they have confirmed the path for my future. I started college as an undecided major, but after taking Intro to Psych, I quickly declared as a Psychology Major.  During winter break of my sophomore year of college, my boyfriend’s (now husband) brother tragically passed away.
